short thought on the works of Alan Moore
My impression is that Miracleman, Watchmen, and anything else that deconstructed supers was more due to a love of the medium and need to know what made things tick.

After some time off doing things like 'From Hell' he came back, and then proceeded to write some of the most respectful homages to the Silver Age--- series like 1963 and Supreme show that, and much of his DC work in the early to mid 80s shows that respect as well.

It takes a lot of love and respect to write a story like 'Whatever happened to the Man of Tomorrow?', and it shows in more recent works like Promethea and Tom Strong.

Unfortunately, most people only look at his deconstructionist work, and fail to see the big picture.

here's something that's been puzzling me lately.
    * The Koran strictly states that idolotry is verboten.

    * The Koran also dictates that all good muslims must worship in the direction of Mecca three times daily.

    * If the second statement means that people are worshipping a city, does this mean that because they've violated the first statement, they're all going to hell?

Or am I missing something here?

If I'm not, then somebody has some explaining to do.

    Just a short thought;

Justice and Science were great in the past, but what happened? It's obvious that the two, backed up by the fists of conviction, worked. perhaps a third needs to balance things out, to prevent future failings of Justice and Science.

I propose that Awesome take that position, for no reason that Justice and Science just semm to work better with Awesome along for the ride.

Perhaps things would get interesting again, and despite chinese curses, that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

    What's wrong with this picture?
I've never really written a rant before, but this is something I feel has to be said, the sooner the better. The purpose of this rant is not meant as an attack per se, but merely an expression of my situation.

It began rather simply last year. I found out about a new Warren Ellis comic called Fell last year. I bought the first issue, read it, and liked it enough to add it to my hold file. the next month I hear the second issue has come out, and so I go to the shop to pick it up. Not there. Ok, not a big deal. I wait a few weeks, and still no comic. Later issues come in, no problem. But no Fell issue 2. I begin to notice a pattern. many of of the comics I buy see to be missing issues. Conan, Frankenstein, Shonen Jump, Mister Miracle, Teen Titans, Fell.

Getting annoyed at all this, I ask an employee at the local shop about this. He tells me that when demand for a particular comic goes up beyond the initial orders, Diamond diverts books from outlets that are considered 'small fish' and give them to their bigger customers. The shop gets credited of course, but the customers are SOL.

Checking online I discover that this is a big problem all over the country. shops never get certain issues in, they get credited, the customers get nothing.

    What's wrong with this picture?

Diamond is getting away with a lot here, and nobody, at least as far as I can tell, has done nothing about this. Why? My sense of what's right and wrong tells me that they need to be held accountable for this. I've come to the conclusion that this is yet another example of the injustice inherent in the world.

In the end, all I want is to be able to buy the comics I want to buy and read, and not have to deal with this. Maybe it's time something is done about Diamond's stranglehold monopoly on the comics industry.

    Litany of Seeds
    I will not eat seeds.
    Seeds are the colon killer.
Seeds are the little death that eviscerate and disembowel from within.
    I will face the seeds.
I will permit it to leave my food entirely.
When it has left my food I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the seeds are there will be nothing.
    Only I will remain.

You scored as Storyteller. You're more inclined toward the role playing side of the equation and less interested in numbers or experience points. You're quick to compromise if you can help move the story forward, and get bored when the game slows down for a long planning session. You want to play out a story that moves like it's orchestrated by a skilled novelist or film director.
